The Owners

Joe and Jill Lavin bought the Inn in 2006. They discovered this Vermont lodging property as customers of the Inn while visiting their son, Tyler, a 2005 graduate of Dartmouth College. They fell in love with the Upper Valley and wanted to become a permanent part of its culture and environment. Joe is a long time Hospitality Industry executive with such companies as Marriott, Westin and Choice Hotels.

The Innkeepers

Innkeeper Taryn Foster has been at the Inn since the beginning of 2007 and has recently been promoted from Assistant Innkeeper. Prior to joining the Inn gained valuable experience at the historic Lodge Resort in Cloudcroft, New Mexico. An Employee of the Year while at The Lodge was Front Desk Supervisor, Catering/Conference Coordinator and Sales Manager. She has a BA in Fine Arts from Nebraska Wesleyan University, class of 2000.

Assistant Innkeeper Vlatka Barcan, joined the Inn in 2009 and quickly rose to the role of Front Office Manager before her promotion to replace Taryn Foster. A native of Croatia, Vlatka has a Masters Degree in Economics and Hotel Management from the University of Rijeka in Croatia. Her US experience includes a number of roles at the Historic Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs.
